International Green Chemistry Campus Gathering Pushes Innovation Forward
In December 2014 Green Chemistry Campus hosted an international gathering of representants from Bio Base NWE, Regions 4 Resource Efficiency and partners from the Enterprise Europe Network. The meeting turned to be very productive, as various partners have committed themselves to push ideas further and to investigate future European collaborations.
The gathering that consisted of a 3-day program kicked of on Monday December 8 2014. 35 people from 11 different European countries discussed the mutual agenda to construct a framework for developing shared projects. Topics that were discussed include SME support, education and CO2 reduction.
On Tuesday 9 December the group met at the Green Chemistry Campus to continue discussions and that afternoon 16 people from 6 different countries joined the Biorizon & Biobased Delta event 'The profitable future of biobased aromatics'. All participants came out very impressed by the ‘state of play’, the business case thinking and level of cooperation within Biorizon, a shared research center to develop aromatics from sugars and lignin.
On Wednesday 10 December a select group visited the BioBase Europe Pilot Plant and this trip was also well received by the participants.
Green Chemistry Campus enjoyed working together with this group of passionate and enthusiastic people and is looking forward to join forces and push innovation in the field of resource efficiency and biobased economy forward.
