Call for Innovation: Award “Biobased Material of the Year 2015”

For the eighth year running, the Innovation Award "Bio-based Material of the Year" will be awarded by the German Nova Institut to the young, innovative bio-based chemicals and materials industry, finding suitable applications and markets for bio-based products. The competition focuses on new developments in these areas, which have had (or will have) a market launch in 2014 and 2015.

Application

The participants should hand in a completed application form, a two page description of their product, including printable digital pictures (300 dpi) which must be available to use on our conference website, free of charge. The documents should explain the particular aspects of the innovation and when it was launched on the market. It is also necessary to submit a sample of the product (or a small material sample if the product is too unhandy).

A jury consisting of representatives of the nova-Institute, the advisory board, sponsors and partners of the conference will nominate the outstanding "Top 6" applicants prior to the conference. The "Top 6" will present their innovations in a shared exhibition space provided by the nova-Institute, additionally there is the option to book your own exhibition space (for information see http://www.biowerkstoff-kongress.de/exhibitorinfo).

In a short 10-minute presentation, each one of the six companies will introduce its innovation. The three winners will then be elected after the presentations at the first day of the event by the participants of the conference.

 All winners and their innovations will be highlighted in the subsequent media coverage and will be included in the print edition of the international Business Directory for Bio-based Materials 2014/15 (iBIB): www.bio-based.eu/ibib.

The deadline for all applications is 13 February 2015.


Please note that it is obligatory for the chosen Top 6 candidates to be physically present 13 April 2015 at the event in Cologne in order to present their product to our audience. Each Top 6 candidate will get one 3-day ticket free and further tickets at a discount rate.
