Lunch & Learn: Chemical recycling …an exploration of current processes and ongoing research

Join us for our Lunch & Learn session on chemical recycling! Chemical recycling is important because it reduces waste, provides renewable raw materials, offers sustainable solutions for plastic pollution, creates high-quality materials and saves energy. This contributes to a circular economy and provides new economic opportunities.

During this Lunch & Learn session, Qian Zhou – Associate Professor Chemical Recycling will showcase examples from MNEXT projects that utilize two key techniques: pyrolysis, which involves heating organic materials to produce valuable products, and solvolysis, which uses reactive solvents to break chemical bonds.  We’ll also explore source-based recycling strategies that provide materials with recyclability from the origin.
